The wearing of masks causes glasses to fog up.

As most of the country wears masks during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, one of the common (and annoying) side effects is the fogging up of glasses and other eyewear. This fogging occurs as warm air escapes through the gaps on either side of the nose, coming into contact with the cooler lenses and causing condensation. Small water particles build up on the lens as a result, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of harm to the person and others.

Workers have no choice but to wear PPE.

The issue of eyewear fogging has long been a problem in the industrial environment, where workers have a requirement to wear both respirators and safety glasses, as mandatory PPE to do their job tasks. This is particularly prevalent in colder climates where the temperature difference of the expelled air and the outside is greater. Many PPE manufacturers have developed anti-fog lens coatings to combat this issue, however very few work effectively and are significantly more expensive than non coated alternatives. In addition, these safety glasses do not assist workers requiring prescription lenses.

What anti-fog solution is available to eliminate eyewear fogging?

To solve the fogging issue, as well as cater for all workers using any type of eyewear, Blisma has developed StopFog Gel. This small tube comes complete with a built in applicator brush to easily apply and spread, as well as a microfiber cloth to buff and polish the lens. Once applied, a transparent film forms over the lens, which prevents water droplets forming on the lens, therefore eliminating fogging. This unique gel is vastly superior in performance and ease of application, compared to traditional sprays, wipes and wax alternatives available in the market.

How has Blisma StopFog helped?

Since the StopFog Gel product became available in the December of 2020, customers have been excited about finally having a solution to their fogging problems, that works. Some industrial companies have made StopFog Gel part of their personnel issue, plus provided access via PPE vending machines on the work site. As one safety manager has put it, "we have tried a number of different products to eliminate the fogging of our safety glasses, but none work as well as the StopFog Gel".

So in conclusion, Blisma StopFog Gel has increased the visibility and safety for people wearing both masks and glasses during the pandemic. Whether they are at work, out shopping or enjoying family time in public places, this handy little tube is fast becoming a must have in everyday lives. Try it out for yourself!
